About Hypatia
An independent cultural space in the heart of old Alexandria.
Hypatia was born in 2025 as a small answer to a big question: where can people in Alexandria go to think, make, and feel — together? We took an old apartment above El-Borsa El-Watania Cafe, kept the antique chairs and the wooden floors, and opened the doors.
Named after the ancient philosopher and mathematician of Alexandria, Hypatia is a lighthouse of thought. A place for musicians, writers, painters, students, tired coworkers, and anyone chasing a slower kind of night.
